Try hands-on activities with real local wildlife, gaze at the constellations in our starry night sky, spin sheep wool or make your own butter. Each year we have new and exciting adventures for you to enjoy as a family.”

U Pick, We Pick Apples

“100 acres of apple trees are open at your feet for the conquest. You and your family will have the challenge of finding the best, most tasty apples that you can pick for yourself right off the tree. It doesn’t get any fresher than that! If you’re not up for the adventure, there are plenty of pre-picked apples in our store too!”

Wildlife Interactive

“Day by day watch as tadpoles grow into frogs! Observe live snakes as they move gracefully throughout their environment without the help of arms and legs, and even stay and watch them eat! Get your hands into some soft rabbit fur, feel bird feathers and all other sorts of animal textures! Test your detective skills at the skeleton exhibit and guess which animals the skulls belong to. Use hands-on activities to discover the world of animals that live around us.”

“Pick up your dinner the 100-mile diet way by selecting your veggies fresh out of our garden and grab some locally grown and prepared meats and meals. Grab your loaf of bread for the morning, or your muffin and coffee to keep you tied over till lunch. If you’re in a rush home from work or heading to the cottage, then make a quick stop to get your eggs and milk. Pick up homemade preserves, honey or maple syrup, and then enjoy our giftware and toy sections.”

Archery

Try out one of our bows and arrows for size! We offer lessons geared for different age groups that deal with safety, equipment handling and skill building! All archers must take at least one lesson the first time they visit to become certified, returning visitors must show proof of their certification before they may shoot freely. Follow up lessons also offered! For more information please contact us.

Wildlife Interactive Center

Our Wildlife Interactive center targets the diverse local wildlife of the Georgian Bay region of Canada, presenting information and interesting facts about them with beautiful displays and hands-on activities! We also address the animals as friends or foes of the orchard; I bet you’ll be surprised at who is who! The Wildlife Interactive also includes a large picnic area that can be rented for Birthday Parties, painting classes and any other activities that you can challenge us with! This is an excellent indoor venue for all sorts of events!

The Farmer's Pantry

FARM MARKET AND ACTIVITY CENTER


Stop in the store for fresh fruits and veggies as well as homemade preserves from right here at the Farmer's Pantry and throughout Grey County.Find that perfect birthday gift for someone special or a new item to add to an existing collection all right in one place! Come on in and try your luck at the Farmer's Mini Golf course here on our farm and enjoy a 1 km hike through the orchard. Visit the Wildlife Interactive Nature Center, touch and feel your way through the center which includes live animals and other exhibits. We also have educational activities for the family every Saturday or upon request, including Snake Presentations, Compass Orienteering, Archery Lessons and many more activities to do. Check out our Events page for a complete list of the activites that we host throughout the summer. We are hoping to begin the Pick-Your-Own Apples the last week in August as long as the weather keeps up, get your picking arms warmed and and exercised before then!
WHATS NEW AND EXCITING?
We have our first early apples in the store! Picked fresh right from our farm ready for your home. We have Melba's and Jersey Mac's come on in for your first taste of what the wonderful apple season has to offer for 2010! Blueberries and Corn are in right now, come and get it while they are still in season and nice and fresh! This Saturday, August 14th is the Canadian Reptiles presenation! Come visit us at 1pm to touch, hold and learn about reptiles that live in Canada!

We're Growing Over the Winter

This is another big year for changes at the Farmer’s Pantry! We’re planting blueberries for our future U-Pick, finishing off our mini-golf course, implementing new and old summer programs and making additions to the Wildlife Interactive Centre! Please check back for further up-dates.
